Thermocouples are used in industry for measuring the temperature of gases, liquids or solid surfaces etc., Its usually assembled with indicators, recorders or computers.
A thermocouple consists of two dissimilar metals joined together at one end. When the junction of the two metals be cooled or heated and a voltage is produced that can be correlated back to the emperature. The calibrations are K, N, E.J, T, S, R, B. Each calibration has a different temperature range.
1. Structure:
Bayonet Mount Thermocouple is inserted into a matting adapter and is secured by a slotted bayonet cap, which is a quick, effective and inexpensive method of mounting a thermocouple into a housing or recess.
2.Charateristics:
The push and twist mechanism allows for fast and easy installation or removel.
There are three styles of Bayonet Mount Thermocouple.
That is,
Bayonet Styles:
fixed spring loading, adjustable spring loading, and variable pepth.
3. Calibrations
Thermocouples are available in different combinations of metals or calibrations. Thermocouples known as Types J, K, T, E and N. Although thermocouple calibration dictates the temperature range, the maximum range is also limited by the diameter of the thermocouple wire.
